Sierra Dental has looked after Signal Hill families since 1983, and the clinic Dr. Meggan Schiffner took over in 2015 is now one of the most fully staffed in Calgary — more than ten general dentists, over twenty-five hygienists and a resident bench of specialists. Gum surgery, an implant, a root canal and braces all stay inside one chart: no referral across the city, no gap between stages.

Services

Family and preventive: exams from age one, hygiene, oral cancer screening, sealants. Restorative: tooth-coloured fillings, crowns, inlays and onlays, bridges, full-mouth restorations. Cosmetic: Zoom whitening, bonding, veneers and componeers. Orthodontics: Invisalign, ClearCorrect and Empower self-ligating braces. Surgical and prosthetic: implants, wisdom tooth removal, dentures including implant-retained. Sleep apnea gets its own line: custom mandibular appliances for patients who cannot tolerate a CPAP machine. Same-day slots are held for urgent cases, weekends included.

Technology and sedation

3D CBCT imaging, digital scanning and dental lasers carry the diagnostic and surgical load. All three levels of sedation are on offer — nitrous oxide, oral and IV — delivered by certified providers who try behaviour management first and keep sedation for the cases that need it.

Dentists

Periodontist Dr. Jill Bashutski is board certified, holds a Lazzara implant fellowship from the University of Michigan and directed the periodontics program there, with over thirty scientific publications behind her. Root canals go to endodontists Dr. Kiarash Shabehpour, a clinical instructor at UBC, and Dr. Leslie Afable, FRCD(C); orthodontics to Dr. Faraz Tavoossi; removable work to denturist Roni Yusefov. Dr. Adriana Sopruniuk is fluent in Ukrainian and Polish. Owner Dr. Meggan Schiffner, a past president of the Calgary and District Dental Society, focuses on children and sedation.
